What does it do?

This a very simple widget for Apple's Dashboard feature, introduced in Mac OS X 10.4 'Tiger'. It allows you to send SMS text messages via the Internet to mobile phones.

Click here to download the widget. If you are using Safari, you should be asked whether you want to install the widget. Don't worry, it's legit: you can click 'Install'. You then may be asked again (in Dashboard) whether you want to keep it.. Go ahead and push 'Keep'. To pull up the Dashboard at any time, hit F12.

Getting Started

Before you can use the 2SMS widget, you must first sign-up to the 2sms.com service (2sms.com fees apply). This gives you an account credit which allows you to send your messages.

Once you have an account and SMS credit, you just download the widget, input your username and password, and start texting!

Windows, Linux and older Macs

Because Dashboard is only available for Mac OS X 10.4, Windows, Linux and pre 10.4 Mac users can download the old 2sms Client here:
